The Prodigal Son [Ep 031]

Uncategorized Apr 18, 2019

In this parable, we’re going to learn about two types of believers: the immoral believer and the legalistic believer.  And both are carnal believers.  Both are walking by means of the Flesh rather than by means of the Spirit.  However, God's grace extends to all believers in Christ.  And recovery of fellowship with God is easy.  Because grace is easy.

Is Being Good "Good Enough?" [Ep 030]

Uncategorized Apr 12, 2019

Most people, even Christians, can’t fathom how God can sentence a good person to hell.  In our fallen world, we admire people who are good citizens.  People who help other people.  People who fight for a good cause.  People that serve.  People that appear humble.  From the outside, it all looks good.  We say to ourselves, truly God has a place in heaven for such a good person.  But does He?  Is being good, “good enough” to earn God’s grace and entry into heaven?

Eternal Security [Ep 029]

Uncategorized Apr 05, 2019

It’s imperative that I dedicate a podcast to one of the most basic doctrines in Christianity, eternal security.  I was saved at a very young age, and most of my life, I’ve never doubted my salvation.  However, most Christians either don’t believe in eternal security or doubt their salvation. And this is very concerning. Because understanding eternal security is so important for spiritual growth.  In fact, it’s impossible to grow very much spiritually unless you accept eternal security.  Because if you deny eternal security, you deny grace.  And we live our spiritual lives by means of grace.  Instead of having peace, knowing that you’re secure, you’ll inevitable live by means of fear and guilt.  You’ll lack the proper motivation for living the Christian life.

Unconditional Love and Respect [Ep 028]

Uncategorized Mar 29, 2019

It’s been a few weeks since my last podcast.  I took a break because I was on leave in the midst of my deployment overseas.  I had a tremendous time with my family!  It was awesome!  Well, I’m back overseas again and eager to continue with the You Make Me Strong podcast. I’m eager to continue teaching God’s grace and truth.

Run Away From Legalism! [Ep 027]

Uncategorized Feb 21, 2019

I’m still piecing together another podcast on marriage, but I felt inspired this week to dive deeper into the problem of legalism.  Legalism is the enemy of grace.  It’s inflicting a lot of suffering on Christians.  And it’s causing people to leave the local church and give up on Christianity completely.  Ironically, so many people in today’s churches that are trying so hard to bring people to their church are actually doing the opposite.   They’re actually turning people away.  Sure, they might convince someone to visit their church for a Sunday, or a few Sundays, or heck even a couple of years.  But, in the long run, legalism wears people down.  Unfortunately, today, many Christians are blind to their own legalism.  They’re blind to their own arrogance.  Yes, legalism is utter arrogance.  Legalism is dependence on self rather than God, legalism is superimposing your rules on top of...

Marriage [Ep 026]

Uncategorized Feb 13, 2019

In this podcast, we’re going to begin talking about marriage.  The topic of marriage may take us a couple of lessons.  Like all of my podcasts, I provide a broad overview of what the Bible says regarding a topic found in Scripture.  For a deeper understand, you’ll need to find a well-qualified pastor teacher.  And, like all of the You Make Me Strong podcasts, the Word of God is the primary and ultimate source for all information.  As I go through what the Bible says about marriage, I’ll probably be tougher on men than women.  God designed men to be the leaders in marriage.  As the leader, the man takes responsibility for the success or failure of his marriage, before God.  Of course, this doesn’t mean that the woman is exempt from responsibility.  But God designed the man to be the leader and initiator.  And He designed the woman to be the follower and responder.

Witnessing [Ep 025]

Uncategorized Feb 06, 2019

In this podcast, we’re going to talk about witnessing.  When performed properly, witnessing is an amazing part of our spiritual lives.  What a tremendous joy knowing that someone has believed in Christ!  That they are eternally saved!  That they are now a child of God and that they are forever apart of the Kingdom of God!  Of course, like all things in the Christian life, there’s a right way and a wrong way to witness.  The right way is God’s way.  God’s way is all about grace.  God’s way is all about truth.  God’s way is all about God doing all of the work.  And God getting all of the credit.  We are merely His willing instruments.

The Bible [Ep 023]

Uncategorized Jan 18, 2019

This week, on the You Make Me Strong Podcast, we’re going to talk about The Bible.  As an evangelist, my number one objective is not convincing everyone that The Bible is the Word of God.  Instead, it’s more important to spread the gospel of salvation.  You can be a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and not believe that The Bible is the Word of God.  But, as a believer in Christ, you’ll face the consequences.  The only way we mature as Christians is by growing in God’s grace and truth.  Truth isn’t relative.  We all don’t get to decide what truth is and what truth is not.  God has spoken to us.  He has told us that “All Scripture is God breathed.”  It’s what we need for reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness.  It breaks my heart to hear believers in Christ attacking The Word of God.  As if God’s Word doesn’t face enough opposition from...

Giving [Ep 022]

Uncategorized Jan 10, 2019

This week marked the end of college football season.  On Monday, or actually Tuesday morning where I’m at, I enjoyed watching the national championship game.  I’m not an Alabama or Clemson fan, but I always enjoy watching two great teams play against each other.  The final game was a culmination of a year of hard training and practice by kids on both teams.  And I was encouraged to hear that the quarterbacks on both football teams are outspoken believers.  You know, there are a lot of analogies we can make between playing on a football team and the spiritual life.  As we make our way through this podcast on grace giving, I’ll share some of those analogies with you.
